Wedgwood East started developing in the late 1950's through the early 1980's. Like most Fort Worth neighborhoods, Wedgwood East started as farm land and can boast that one of the original homesteads still stands nestled in the heart of the neighborhood.
The uniqueness of Wedgwood East lies within it's residents. Although, the neighborhood continued to develop over the span of almost 30 years, you will find multi-generational families throughout Wedgwood East. It is not unusual to meet neighbors who may have grown up here, moved away only to return years later to raise their own families; or find multi-generational families who live within blocks of each other or some cases, next door to each other. It is with the warmth of family combined with the vibrancy of a growing Fort Worth, that continues to draw new residents to this "Cowtown Gem of a Neighborhood."
