Our neighborhood is bound to the north by Loop 820 and to the south by Altamesa Blvd. We are bound to the west by Woodway Ave. and to the east by Westcreek Blvd. We represent close to 1,700 homes in one of the largest neighborhood associations in Fort Worth. We are conveniently located within minutes of every major freeway to access the entire Dallas/Fort Worth Metro-plex. Plus, with the easy access, we are within a 30 minute commute to most major Tarrant County employers, including Lockheed, Carswell Joint Naval Air Station, Downtown Fort Worth Business District, Tarrant County Hospital District and American Airlines to name a few.
We love to see people take pride in their yards. Here are some past Yard of the Month winners.
Amanda Joy Pittman - President
Mark Greene - Vice President
I’ve been a DFW resident since 1960, minus time globetrotting for Uncle Sam. I’ve been a Wedgwood resident for 8 years plus one a good while back, and now a Wedgwood East homeowner for 4. My professional experience is primarily in construction and general contracting, and I recently started a professional home inspection business. I have a 35-year civic history while living in different neighborhoods and cities in DFW, including serving on citizen committees, leading various ballot initiatives, serving on City Council (Benbrook), working on various political campaigns and serving as precinct chair in this and previous precincts. These roles have made me excel at outreach, soliciting community involvement, and motivating and organizing volunteers. As a neighbor, I’m currently pursuing the issue of the excessive water pressure, have volunteered for a park cleanup, checked on a few home issues for neighbors, and rescued a few dogs. I’m a cranky old guy with a big heart and a little bit of brains. My motto for our neighborhood is that neighbors should be neighborly.
Darren Kiefer- Treasurer
Darren served in the US Army as a medic for 10 years before earning his bachelors degree in political science from Texas A&M - Central Texas and his MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler. He currently works in the procurement department at a utilities manufacturing company, and is planning on transitioning to a full time high school teacher later this fall. He looks forward to maintaining and improving our neighborhood, while growing WENA membership and participation.
Betty Spitzberg - Corresponding Secretary
My family moved into the neighborhood in August 2021. In our previous neighborhood, I was the Director of Communications handling our website, Facebook page, twitter and Instagram accounts as well a monthly printed newsletter and weekly e-newsletter. I plan to bring back a printed newsletter and hope to reach the entire neighborhood to increase membership.
Danielle Vieck - Recording Secretary
Danielle Vieck is a third generation resident of Wedgwood East and a graduate of Southwest High school. She worked as a baker and cake decorator for several years and is now a full time mother who enjoys being involved in the schools and community. Danielle hopes to get more people involved in WENA and encourage residents to help better our neighborhood through social bonds and community involvement.
As a voluntary neighborhood association, this organization relies completely and totally on it's neighbors who willingly share their time, energy and many talents.
If you find yourself with a few extra hours a month and you'd like to get involved - we'd love to have you!
We are an eclectic bunch in Wedgwood East! We are engineers, sales people, government employees, doctors, teachers, landscapers, retired, lawyers, stay at home parents and a diversified group of entrepreneurs (to name a few) . We are newlyweds, empty nesters, new parents, grandparents, singles and couples. We are walkers, cyclists, runners, readers, gardeners and gabbers.
If you'd like to meet new friends, have an exceptional talent you want share or a passion for a new project - we'd love to talk to you. Please reach out to any of our volunteering members on the "contact us" page and let us know how we can help each other.
We hope to hear from you soon.
